Prototype
This model replicates the Class A, 18-ton, two-cylinder, two-truck locomotive as built around 1910, same configuration as the original 18-ton locomotives brought to the Alishan forest railroad.

Features
- The drive system uses a coreless motor and gearbox to drive the front and rear trucks via a center universal shafts. The crankshaft on the right side is driven from the center of the engine with the gearbox reducing correct rotation speed. As the bevel gears are non- functional dummies, no complex adjustments, such as gear meshing are required.
- The engine and crankshaft components are designed to be compatible with both 9mm and 10.5mm gauges.
- The gearbox and front/rear trucks come pre-assembled. However, as this is not a R-T-R drive unit, you have to screw those parts onto the floorboard and wire them up to make it run.
- The gear ratio is approximately 1:50, set to run slightly slower than our 2-6-0 and new Forney models. The prototype passed through R177 curves in both directions.
- The drive gears are made of brass and POM, the floorboard is etched brass, and the body and detail parts are made from 3D printing.
- Painting can be done using primer and paints for plastic models, just as with standard plastic kits.
- Slight surface striations may be visible on the body, and there may be small pittings on the rear surface of the coal bunker. Please smooth the surface using sandpaper or putty according to your preference.
- Replacement parts are available for purchase; please contact us for details.
